Greetings to all,
This is a reminder that employees wanting to qualify for protections under the Family Medical Leave Act must give advanced notice of 30 days or as soon as practicable. If advanced notice of 30 days is not possible employees should provide an explanation as to why it was not possible. Notice is to be given to the Human Resources Department and must be in writing.
We are seeing an increase in FMLA request. It is important for the protection of all employees that we review these requests and verify that the leave is eligible for FMLA protections.
Additional information on FMLA can be found on the Human Resources Blog page for FMLA and leaves.
